Webinar: COVID-19 and Anti-thrombotic Treatment (Friday, May 29, 2020)

The Global Surgery Foundation is is excited to announce the next installation of Operation Smile’s COVID-19 Rapid Response Webinars:

"COVID-19 and Anti-thrombotic Treatment."

This session is scheduled from 9:00am to 10:30am EDT on Friday, May 29.

A global consensus is starting to form that the major cause of morbidity and mortality from COVID-19 is hypercoagulopathy rather than classic Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). This realization is starting to transform medicine’s understanding of the COVID-19 disease process and the best approaches to treatment at all stages of the disease, both in the hospital and in the community.

Operation Smile has gathered experts in COVID-19 care and in hematology to discuss the latest findings in COVID-19 hypercoagulopathy and anti-thrombotic treatment. The small panel format is designed to allow ample time for audience Q&A and discussion. It is hoped that participants will gain a better understand of the pathophysiology of COVID-19 hypercoagulopathy and the risks and benefits of putting COVID-19 patients on anti-thrombotic treatment.

  • Dr. Kate Tulenko, Operation Smile Consultant
