Injury & trauma surgery
Responding to the world’s biggest epidemic. In most countries, traumatic injury is the leading cause of death and disability for people under the age of 45. Seven million people die each year as a result of injury and trauma, with many more being left disabled.
The GSF partners with governments to assist the scale up of emergency trauma surgical services through comprehensive and integrated planning.

Policy development
The GSF offers a common platform to assist countries in the development of their national surgical plans (NSOAPs) and surgical care policies, which can then be fully integrated into their National Health Strategy.
We collaborate with multiple stakeholders to further develop the NSOAP process, including governments, the World Health Organization, leading academic institutions; funding agencies; industry; foundations, philanthropy, and NGOs.
