Mrs Bempong-Ahun is Project Manager at the Global Surgery Foundation (GSF) and was supporting the development of the GSF during its incubation at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research. She's gained experience in academic research, grant management and project management, and is a is Public Health Specialist by training specialised in global health.
In April 2017, Mrs Bempong-Ahun joined the Institute of Global Health at the University of Geneva to support a major grant application focused on digital innovations which could be utilised to strengthen epidemic preparedness of infectious disease outbreaks. She's published over 10 manuscripts on Precision Global Health in peer-reviewed journals and managed coordination of events such as an expert meeting at the Rockefeller Foundation in Bellagio, Italy and the seventh edition of the Geneva Health Forum. Before transitioning to scientific publishing at Frontiers, Mrs Bempong-Ahun worked for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to revise and update the Health Emergencies in Large Populations (H.E.L.P.) training course.
Mrs Bempong-Ahun holds a MMedSci in Public Health from Lund University (Sweden) and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP)©.
