New Partnership With G4 Alliance

 

7 December 2020, Geneva, Switzerland - The Global Surgery Foundation (GSF) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) are pleased to announce a new partnership with the Global Alliance for Surgical, Obstetrics, Trauma and Anaesthesia Care (the G4 Alliance). The three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed within the context of developing the activities of the GSF.

The G4 Alliance is a non-governmental organization which was established in 2015 as a coalition of associations and organizations that work around the world to increase awareness, foster political will, and mobilize resources to make access to quality, safe, timely, and affordable emergency and essential surgical, obstetric, trauma and anaesthesia care a global health priority. UNITAR and GSF are pleased to collaborate with them in working towards contributing to improvements and sustainable development in the realm of global surgery.

Through this MoU, UNITAR, GSF, and the G4 Alliance have committed to work towards capacity building and advocacy in global surgery, and promoting the development of National Surgical, Obstetrical and Anaesthesia Planning (NSOAP). This partnership also includes commitments to policy improvements and resource mobilization in global surgery as well as exploring innovative training avenues, and hosting and implementing joint projects, symposia, conferences etc.

UNITAR and GSF are pleased to work with the G4 Alliance to support the development of improved surgical care systems globally.
