New Partnership With Royal College Canada International
14 September 2020, Geneva, Switzerland - The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Division for People and Social Inclusion is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Royal College Canada International (RCI). The three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the organisations was signed within the context of UNITAR’s Global Surgery Foundation (GSF).
The RCI, headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, is a non-profit corporation incorporated under the laws of Canada and associated charity of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (the “Royal College”), a leader in specialty medical education and care. The RCI is focuses on delivering innovative educational products and services of the Royal College to international clients.
Through this partnership, the UNITAR, GSF, and RCI, will engage in capacity-building in postgraduate medical education- particularly in the field of global surgery and reconstructive surgery, national surgical, obstetrical and anaesthesia planning, and working towards universal health coverage. A common goal between the organizations also remains the sustainable development of global surgery. The MoU also extends to activities such as the joint projects of mutual interest, fundraising, and organizing together international conferences, symposia, etc.
UNITAR and GSF are glad to work with RCI for developing and offering innovative capacity-building tools to support the development of improved post-graduate medical education and surgical care systems globally.
