The AO Alliance and the Global Surgery Foundation announce partnership
We are pleased to announce that the Global Surgery Foundation (GSF) and the AO Alliance have entered into a strategic partnership, signing a memorandum of understanding.
The AO Alliance is a non-profit development organization dedicated to strengthening care of the injured in over 30 low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) in Sub-Saharan Africa and in Asia. Their mission is to reduce human suffering, disability, and poverty by implementing programs that enhance local fracture-care capacity for a sustainable impact. The AO Alliance accomplishes this by investing in local capacity and fostering best practices in patient care and by advocating for injuries to become a global public health priority.
The missions of our two organisations intersect in our shared goals to improve outcomes for fracture patients in those areas where access to orthopaedic surgical care is severely lacking, as well as shared programmatic priorities focused on trauma and injuries.
More recently, the AO Alliance joined the Building Bridges for Broken Bones project as a programmatic and financial partner, providing their extensive experience in enhancing local fracture care capacity for sustainable impact. This project is supported by the GSF's SURGfund and its convening and financing model.
Our activities are designed to achieve highest impact on saving lives and building sustainable health systems. Stay updated on our programming.
